We also offer financing through national financing partners Sunlight Financials and Mosaic.
Depending on your project type, we typically schedule installation 3 to 4 months out from contract signature. Solar and battery installations will receive permission to operate (PTO) following final inspection with your building department and utility approval.
It is important to differentiate installation from permission to operate (PTO). Installation will be performed by one of our expert field crews, and involves the physical job of installing all components at your home (solar, batteries, SPAN, EV charger, etc.). Once installed, your system will not be operational until PTO is scheduled and approved by your utility provider. The timing for this is specific to your utility provider and may vary greatly depending on where you live.
We are a small team and strive to offer consistent and quality experiences to our customers. Our sales and operations teams will communicate the most accurate and up to date information on your project based on our timeline and those of your utility and building department. Your patience is appreciated.
Net Metering is a residential solar incentive that essentially rewards you (the homeowner) for using solar energy. It works by selling any surplus power generated by your solar panels to the utility operator in exchange for credits, which offset any electricity you may need to use from the grid. The credit is applied at the retail rate, which means the rate that you pay for electricity.
This means when your solar energy system produces more electricity than your home needs, the excess electricity is sent to the power grid and your utility pays you for it. Net metering is part of what makes rooftop solar such a great way to save money!
The Inflation Reduction Act was signed into law in August 2022 and is the most significant climate legislation in U.S. history. It includes measures to finance renewable energy and lower costs through tax credits.
Use the Rewiring America IRA calculator to see how much you can save on home electrification projects!
Specific to homeowners interested in solar — The IRA expands the Solar Investment Tax Credit to 30% which allows eligible households to receive a 30% tax refund for solar panels.
The IRA also extends the 30% credit to stand alone energy storage (battery backup) for the first time. Electrical panel upgrades, such as installation of the SPAN smart panel, are applicable for rebates up to $4,000 and an additional $600 tax incentive.
Homeowners should always consult resources such as the Rewiring America IRA calculator and tax professionals to gain more insight into how they can best benefit.
We install the highest quality products based on decades of experience in the solar industry and strive to install American manufactured components whenever possible. We are certified installers for the following brands and honor all product warranties:
Tesla (Powerwall - batteries, inverters, & EV chargers)
Tesla is a leading American tech company that believes in building a world powered by solar energy, running on batteries and transported by electric vehicles. Their Powerwall product is an industry leading integrated battery system that stores your solar energy for backup protection, so when the grid goes down your power stays on. Your system detects outages and automatically recharges with sunlight to keep your appliances running for days. With easy installation and a minimalist design, Powerwall complements a variety of home styles and solar systems. The compact, all-in-one construction features versatile mounting options for indoor or outdoor spaces.
SPAN (Smart panels & EV chargers)
As Colorado’s first Certified SPAN Installer, we are excited to bring this state-of-the-art technology to our customers' homes.
The SPAN panel is a smart electrical panel designed to modernize your home energy system by completely replacing your existing panel. With SPAN, you can control and monitor every circuit in your home from a smartphone or tablet, understand how your home is sourcing, storing, and using energy in real time, and modernize your home with electrification upgrades like solar and battery storage.
More recently, SPAN released its SPAN Drive electric vehicle charger, the only universal EV charger that gives you fast and dynamic charging without a service upgrade. SPAN Drive delivers 48 amps (11.52 kW) of power and is compatible with all EVs, including Tesla.SPAN Drive qualifies for the EVSE Investment Tax Credit (Alternative Fuel Vehicle Refueling Property Credit or 30C) 30% up to $1,000.
Silfab (Solar panels)
Silfab Solar is the North American manufacturing leader in the design and development of ultra-high-efficiency, premium-quality solar panels. Silfab leverages more than 40 years of solar experience and operates out of facilities in Bellingham and Burlington, Washington and Toronto, Canada. Enphase (Microinverters & batteries)
Founded in 2006, Enphase is an American energy technology company headquartered in Fremont, California.
We love Enphase microinverters because they work well in extreme weather conditions, have high production levels, and are seamless to install. Microinverters are known to be very efficient in general and Enphase inverters show great conversion rates. The efficiency of most of their models is close to 100% (96%-98%) — almost no energy is lost in the process. When it comes to installation, all of the microinverters go on top of your solar panels and it’s done. After that you can monitor the performance of your system via the app on your smartphone or a laptop.
Hanwha Q-Cells (Solar panels)
With world-class technology and high quality, Hanwha Q CELLS captured the biggest market share in major markets across the globe. The electrical panel is an essential part of your home, interfacing with the grid, solar, battery storage, and everything you power. The SPAN Panel is a smart electrical panel designed to modernize your home energy system by completely replacing your existing electrical panel, whether new-build or retrofit.
With SPAN you can control and monitor every circuit in your home from your phone, understand how your home is sourcing, storing, and using energy in real-time, and modernize your home without worrying about your existing electrical system. SPAN provides your home with:
You can use the SPAN Home App to monitor your home’s energy consumption, solar production, battery system, and EV charging. You have the ability to turn circuits on/off manually while at home or away. You can automate which circuits should take priority to remain on during off-grid operation when your home is relying on your battery.
When paired with solar and battery storage, SPAN makes your home more self-reliant and helps you endure even the most severe power outages by enabling more flexible backup. With SPAN, you can extend your backup duration by powering only the circuits you need during an outage, and none of the ones you don’t.
Finally, SPAN Panel enables high-value electrification upgrades (induction stoves, heat pumps, EV chargers, etc.) that help you move away from gas appliances and prepare your home for an all-electric future.
Learn more about SPAN by visiting their website: Span.io.
We require a Span panel to be installed in conjunction with any home battery back-up such as the Tesla Powerwall. We feel that going with a traditional "critical loads panel" is a thing of the past and that the added benefits Span delivers for our customers outweigh the cost. Additionally, with the recent introduction of rebates and tax incentives for electrical panel upgrades, SPAN makes more financial sense than ever before (see the Rewiring America IRA Calculator to learn more). Visit www.span.io to learn more about the benefits and capabilities of installing a smart panel.
